1time Airline records best On-Time Performance figures in May

1time Airline’s continual commitment to On-Time Performance (OTP) has resulted in the airline recording the best OTP figures among all South African carriers during the month of May.

The company achieved an overall OTP average of 96.09% according to statistics released by Airports Company South Africa (ACSA).

ACSA’s statistics for May related to OTP results for domestic airlines flying out of O.R. Tambo International (Johannesburg), Cape Town International, and King Shaka International Airports (Durban). OTP is a measurement of whether an aircraft has closed its cabin doors and started push back procedures on time, as advertised by the airline, and within the slot time allocated by the airport authorities.

ACSA’s measurement is carried out in accordance with the Local Access and Transport Area universal standard benchmark, which considers a 15 minute deviation from the scheduled time as an on-time departure.

1time CEO, Blacky Komani asserts that the airline’s impressive OTP statistics is a testament to its continual determination to provide its customers with outstanding service.
“We always strive to ensure that our passengers have a pleasant and convenient flying experience. As such, On Time Performance is an aspect of our business that we pay considerable attention to, and we are constantly striving to drive even better performance in this regard.

“We are extremely pleased with our statistics for May and are committed to maintaining this high standard, once again proving to our customers that we are the first choice in terms of reliable, prompt and efficient service.“

Komani adds that 1time’s sustained OTP performance can be attributed to many factors including quality aircraft maintenance services, efficient passenger and ramp handling, and a focus on departure control.

The airline has also maintained a high performance over the last year, with ACSA reporting that the airline has achieved an average 90.34% OTP so far this year.

Komani concludes that the airline will continue to offer its passengers a premium service.

“1time’s consistently good OTP results are a firm indicator of our airline’s commitment to service excellence, professionalism and attaining high standards for our airline. Our goal moving forward is to return the carrier to basics and ensure that we are running a business that gets our passengers to their destinations, safely, comfortably and with all their luggage.”
