Ethiopian Airlines upgrades Cape Town

Travellers from Cape Town now have more choice and legroom as Ethiopian Airlines announce two extra flights per week from the city.

“Our new additional nonstop flights with the state-of-the-art-technology 787 Dreamliner will give our passengers unparalleled comfort.

Ethiopian Airlines is the second in the world next to Japan’s Airlines and the first in Africa to own the 787 Dreamliner. Right now we have 13 of them and 8 more on order,” says Kibrom Mekonnen, Cape Town Traffic & Sales Manager for Ethiopian Airlines.

Two additional mid-week slots aboard the 787 Dreamliner will dramatically improve the air travel experience for its customers as Ethiopian Airlines continue to invest in industry-leading technology. Beyond increased seat capacity, The Dreamliner Effect has come to mean ambient LED lighting, vaulted ceilings, extra overhead storage, ergonomic seat design and smoother, long-haul flights which are better for the environment too.

According to Kibrom, the 787’s unparalleled fuel efficiency (its 20% more fuel efficient) and range flexibility enables carriers to profitably open new routes as well as optimize fleet and network performance. Ethiopian commands the lion share of the pan-African passenger and cargo network operating the youngest and most contemporary fleet to more than 90 international destinations across five continents. Its ultra-modern aircraft convoy has been bolstered with the acquisition of the Boeing Dreamliners, with more to follow in line with its 15 year strategic vision.
