Europcar boosts kulula partnership

Europcar and kulula have extended their successful long-standing partnership, with Europcar providing kulula with sixteen new branded crew and airside vehicles. The branded vehicles will mainly be used to transport crew from Flight Operations offices to the various airports and training facilities.

Over the past years, in addition to the vehicles, Europcar has branded a number of kulula aircraft, two of which now form part of the current Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 fleet.

On an average day, the buses transport 132 crew members from the Flight Operations offices to the many airports. On arrival at the airport in the event of the air-bridge being unavailable, the crew are then ferried from the terminal to the aircraft. The buses are also used to transport crew to various training sessions.

Iain Meaker, Comair’s Executive Manager for Commercial Distribution says, “Our partnership with Europcar spans well over 12 years. It started when kulula wanted to provide the best prices and services for car rental to our valuable customers.

Over this time the successful partnership has grown from strength-to-strength due to its strong customer proposition. Europcar branding on our support vehicles and aircraft assets serves to highlight to our customers the importance we place on the great working relationship.”

“Partnering with the country’s first low-cost airline, kulula, over the past decade has proven to be invaluable for us. As a result of this partnership, car rental has become more accessible, affordable and ultimately enhanced kulula’s full service travel offering.

The dual branding has afforded Europcar excellent brand visibility and has been successful in leveraging market position and promoting both brands nationally. Our partnership is a rewarding and highly effective relationship, and we look forward to its continued strengthening and growth in the years to come,” says Dawn Jones, CEO of Europcar South Africa.
