First Car Rental ties the knot with Fly Blue Crane

First Car Rental is proud to announce its partnership with South African regional airline, Fly Blue Crane, which launched in September 2015 offering customers the best of both in premium service and affordability.

Fly Blue Crane, a hybrid carrier, currently provides links between Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Kimberley. The airline also flies to Cape Town from Bloemfontein and Kimberley. The airline/car hire partnership is effective immediately and provides Fly Blue Crane customers with highly competitive car rental rates.

Fly Blue Crane’s mission is to offer quality service, good pricing and more flexible travel options for South Africans flying to and from previously underserviced destinations such as Kimberley and Bloemfontein. The airline is poised for growth and plans to expand its route network to include a range of new markets to be announced in the next few weeks.

Theunis Potgieter, Chief Commercial Officer at Fly Blue Crane, says: “Adding value to the lives of our customers is important to us, so our partnership with First Car Rental makes perfect business sense. Our customers will benefit from better car rental rates from one of South Africa’s leading car hire companies.”

Potgieter adds: “The partnership between Fly Blue Crane and First Car Rental is a great match of brand values as both airline and car hire company have a great service record and are able to make quick, autonomous corporate decisions. Customers will benefit greatly from our combined consistency, professionalism and reliability.”

Says Melissa Storey, Executive Head: Strategy, Development and Marketing for First Car Rental, “This is an exciting partnership for First Car Rental as it means we will be able to reach a captive, premium audience of predominantly corporate customers in a targeted region. First Car Rental has a strong operational presence and an established customer base in Bloemfontein and Kimberley, which will now also be shared with Fly Blue Crane.”

Concludes Potgieter, “We have a cost structure, which allows us to offer competitive fares without cutting any corners on quality, safety and reliability. Fly Blue Crane’s customers love this approach to air travel, which blends the best of both worlds without compromising on premium service.”
