Neil Bald joins African Hotels and Adventures as MD

African Hotels and Adventures (AHA), the tourism property management business of Tourvest’s Accommodation and Activities (TAA) division has appointed Neil Bald as managing director.

Bald joins AHA from Southern (Tsogo) Sun Hotels, where he served in various senior positions including operational director for its Garden Court and Stayeasy hotels, director of revenues and director of sales, marketing and revenue management. He has also worked at a number of Southern Sun hotels in various capacities, including general manager, project manager and food and beverage manager.

TAA chief executive Gary Elmes said AHA is thrilled to be able to attract someone of the calibre of Bald into this new role. The managing director role is a new and necessary position in AHA, given its rapid growth and future expansion plans.  AHA had previously announced it intends to grow its portfolio beyond the Southern African region and has already entered into preliminary negotiations with property owners based in Kenya, Ghana, the Ivory Coast and Uganda. Neil will be responsible for the management of the existing portfolio as well as its future expansion, he said.
