Nicky Arthur PR and clients in action for Mandela Day
To celebrate Mandela Day boutique Public Relations Company, Nicky Arthur PR and some of her clients; The Grand Daddy Hotel and Mantis Collection’s Views Boutique Hotel and Spa, Lake Pleasant Living Boutique Hotel joined in the noble cause of Mandela Day helping less advantaged communities.
Lake Pleasant Living today dedicated 67 minutes, and a little extra, to the Ruigtevlei Primary School, a small rural school just outside of Sedgefield. The day started off with some soup and bread for the 80 pupils. That was followed by a lively soccer game, which some of Lake Pleasant staff are already feeling in their muscles. Some even regained their youthfulness by doing a bit of hoola hoop.
The Views Boutique Hotel and Spa hosted the Bethesda Children’s Home for a day of games and lunch. Tours for South Africa generously sponsored a large bus to collect the 45 children and five teachers from the Home and bring them to the Hotel. Once everyone arrived the group hit the beach for fun and games and then went to Sails Restaurant for lunch.
The Grand Daddy Hotel whipped up some soup in their kitchen and took to Cape Town’s Long Street to serve it. Excellent team work meant there was a chef, a waiter and even someone walking the lengths of Long Street proclaiming the good news. When the soup ran out, the Grand Daddy team prepared some cheese and tomato sandwiches.
The Nicky Arthur PR team headed to Delft in the Cape Flats for a day filled with planting gardens, painting buildings and some enthusiastic children’s faces. Joining Solly Philander and the Boundless Heart Foundation was a lot of fun. But not nearly as special as seeing the children’s smiling faces.
“We joined in Mandela Day to give back to the community, it felt so good. We were enriched by the experience,” says Nicky Arthur.
It was a wonderfully beautiful day filled with sunshine and love.
