Press statement from MSC Starlight Cruises

First of all I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support, and for being part of the MSC community. Facebook has becoming an increasingly important aspect of both marketing and communication, and at MSC we try our best to keep up with the times. We greatly value all your feedback and comments.

As many of you may be aware, Starlight Cruises was bought last year by MSC Cruises and we have been integrated into their global infrastructure. This includes our booking and reservation systems. In the past months we have identified some challenges in these systems with regard to sending confirmation emails. Our reservations staff make the bookings, and the confirmations are sent out to the applicable email address, however it seems like these emails are getting lost after that point. The booking has thus been made on our side, however the confirmation email never reaches the intended recipient.

We have been in communication with our IT office in Naples, and they are aware of the problem. In the meanwhile we put a temporary solution in place in the hopes that it would alleviate the problem, however it seems that this solution too has failed.

There were 180 requests received for the MSC Opera cruise, and we were able to allocate bookings to 120 of those requests. Those of you who form part of the 120 can contact any of our offices and quote the reference number associated with your booking to complete the reservation process. Those of you who we were unable to allocate bookings to will be offered alternative cruises in due course.

Once again we offer our sincere apologies for any confusion caused, and thank you for your continued support. I wish to assure you that we are doing everything in our power to sort out these technical difficulties.
