Protea Hotel Tyger Valley unveils new conference venue
Protea Hotel Tyger Valley, which is located in the heart of Cape Town’s northern suburbs where numerous national companies are headquartered, has finished building its new multi purpose conference venue.
Work on the property started in September last year and included combining the restaurant and bar space to accommodate 120 people, as well as sprucing up the exterior of the hotel.
The new multipurpose conference facility can be used as two spaces or combined to create one larger venue for up to 120 delegates. Flooded with natural light, it is ideal for product launches, company gatherings, seminars, cocktail parties and weddings.
The venue also boasts a large deck with magnificent 180-degree views that stretch from the Drakenstein mountains to Table Bay and the twinkling city lights below Table Mountain. This terrace is the perfect location for summer lunches, magical dinners and cocktail parties with arguably the most picture postcard perfect view in South Africa.
Protea Hotel Tyger Valley is an extremely popular and affordable executive hotel with 100 rooms, two of them equipped for disabled GUESTS.
Each room has a flat-screen TV, DVD player, work desk, electronic safe and tea/coffee making facilities.
General Manager Siyanda Dlamini said the new multipurpose venue was already drawing additional bookings to the bustling hotel – largely on the back of an increase of corporates and financial institutions that were basing themselves in the northern suburbs of Cape Town.
“There’s keen interest to use it as a meeting venue because each of the two indoor spaces are equipped with data projectors, drop down screens and block-out curtains, but equally we’re getting enquiries about hiring it for social events, such as a wedding reception venue.
Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, Danny Bryer, said this project was the latest refurbishment of nearly 20 hotels in the portfolio.
“It reaffirms the hotel OWNERS’ commitment to maintaining the Protea Hotels Brand Standard that sees most of our business originating from return GUESTS,” Bryer said. “It’s encouraging to see bookings for this new venue already flowing in and I have no doubt it’s going to be exceedingly popular with both business and leisure CLIENTS.”
