Protea Hotels to host national roadshows

Scores of travel professionals are expected to turn out next month at a series of National Workshops in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban, interacting with the General Managers of Protea Hotels and African Pride Hotels to strengthen relationships and make new connections.

The National Workshop schedule is:

  • Pretoria: Baldinelli Foyer of the State Theatre, Pretorius Street, on June 5;
  • Johannesburg: Wanderers Club, North Street, Illovo, June 6 & 7;
  • Cape Town: African Pride Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa, Century City, June 14; and
  • Durban: Protea Hotel Umhlanga Ridge, Palm Boulevard, June 27.

“The National Workshop series is crucial to our relationship-building with travel professionals. From the hotels’ point of view, GMs get to present their properties to the agents and owners who attend, and to answer questions about their market offering,” said Nicholas Barenblatt, Group Marketing and Advertising Manager of the Protea Hospitality Group.

“It is also valuable for the GMs to hear from agents the challenges and successes they experience, which strengthens those business relationships in the long term.”

Barenblatt said while the Sales TEAMS interacted with travel professionals from agents to corporate procurement specialists daily, the travel trade find value in interacting and building relationships with the GMs who are responsible for ensuring our hotels deliver on the unique service culture in order to meet and exceed our GUESTs needs.

“It is the perfect opportunity for travel professionals to get to know new hotels, or catch up on the latest refurbishments or developments.

“It’s been an exciting period for us; some R1.5 billion has been sunk into 8 new Protea Hospitality Group hotels, the refurbishment of 17 others contracts to bring 5 additional hotels into the portfolio. The construction projects, management acquisitions and refurbishments are taking place in South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia and Tanzania, and as a company we are expanding more rapidly than any other hospitality group on the continent.”

Barenblatt issued an invitation to all travel trade professionals to attend the sessions, which would be invaluable to both them and the various hotels’ GMs in the Protea Hospitality Group.

To attend the workshops, RSVP to the following:

  • Pretoria and Johannesburg:
  • Cape Town:
