Royal Elephant Hotel and Conference Centre joins African Insignia Hotels
African Insignia Hotels have expanded their footprint to the Centurion, Pretoria area by welcoming the bespoke Royal Elephant Hotel and Conference Centre to their Sales and Marketing Portfolio.
Lerina McCall spokesperson and Director of African Insignia Hotels explains that they have been doing the e-mail marketing for Royal Elephant Hotel and Conference Centre for the past 14 months and are delighted to now welcome the property to their portfolio as one of their sales and marketing contracts in conjunction with the hotel’s own sales team who are based in Pretoria.

Cuisine is a medley of Moroccan, International and African cuisine. At her restaurants and bars guests are treated to centuries’ of interaction between Morocco and world cuisines and drinks, under the direction of celebrated Executive Chef, Andrew Hammond.
With its peaceful Moorish fountain and breathtakingly strong decorative features, the dramatic Zagora restaurant serves a delicious fusion of North-African and International Cuisine. The name ‘Zagora’ comes from the name of a town in the valley of the Drâ’a River in Souss-Massa-Drâ’a, south eastern Morocco. Originally it was called ‘Tazagourt’, Berber for ‘twin peaks’, referring to the form of the mountain. The aromas from the kitchen, and eclectic blend of fresh ingredients and spices, creativity and passion, provide the foundation for an extraordinary dining sojourn – in splendid surroundings. Dine inside the formal restaurant, al fresco around the candle lit reflecting pool, at the pergola underneath the stars, or somewhere private just for two! In celebration of Africa’s winemaking legacy, the Wine Cellar is a cool and appealing space that is a stylish extension of the hotel’s hospitality, welcoming sophisticated intimate affairs. Sexy, functional and fresh, the cellar room receives individuals and groups for an unsurpassed wine and culinary experience. The décor of the Wine Cellar, situated below the Zagora Grill Room, embraces the world of wine lands charm, contrasting a quirky mix of nostalgia and Cape Dutch modernism. The Fezorati Coffee Emporium, the hotel’s ‘out of uniform’ establishment, is a place where you can enjoy the splendours of the chef’s cuisine, while sipping traditional coffees, mint tea and relax outside on the terrace. The Fezorati Coffee Emporium is situated at the Conference & Meeting precinct, making it ideal for lunches, teas, breakaway sessions and post conference unwinding. The name originates from the fez or tarboosh, which is either a red felt hat in the shape of a truncated cone, or in the shape of a short cylinder made of kilim fabric. Both usually have tassels. The fez has a varied and sometimes controversial history, but has symbolic meaning in many different cultures. The Royal Elephant Conference Center provides for a wide variety of functions. This Afro-Moroccan multipurpose center can seat up to 450 people banquet style, 600 people cinema style and schoolroom up to 500 delegates. These facilities include the refurbished Bondev House.
