SA Tourism partners Siemens to reward employees…
A happy workplace is a productive workplace and while South Africans are working harder than ever, a much-needed holiday and ‘break’ is critical to ensuring employee wellness and productivity.
With the benefits of a good holiday playing a major part in corporate success clearly in mind, South African Tourism and leading technology company Siemens today announced an innovative partnership which will benefit Siemens’ employees and their families.
Through specially packaged deals with tourism products such as Lebo’s Backpackers, Soweto Outdoor Adventures, Pick ‘n Pay Travel, STA Travel and Thompsons Holidays, the partnership gives Siemens employees and their families the chance to experience the best of Mzansi – at a good price. The holidays are themed and linked to places in Mzansi where people can enjoy scrumptious South African-style cuisine, outdoor adventure and spa and relaxation experiences and the prices for these deals range from only R 147 to R 2 715 per person.
This partnership is part of South African Tourism’s new domestic campaign, “Whatever you are looking for, it’s here”, which includes corporate activations – such as the one with Siemens – as one of its components.
“Holidays are not just fun; they are rejuvenating and enhance productivity. For hard-working South Africans it’s critical to take a break with the family and friends, exploring our country’s beauty, history and culture and we’re very excited about this partnership with Siemens,” said Roshene Singh, Chief Marketing Officer at SA Tourism.
“Siemens is one of South Africa’s model companies – one that invests in its people not only because this makes good business sense, but also because Siemens cares about the well-being of its employees. We also want to thank our local travel trade for so strongly supporting this initiative and our efforts to grow domestic tourism. As we roll out this new campaign we want to say strongly to South Africans that whatever leisure and holiday activities they are looking for, it’s right here,” Singh said.
Sigi Proebstl, CEO of Siemens Africa, said: “We are very proud to be associated with South African Tourism and a project of this kind – a first of its kind – as it allows us to offer our employees the opportunity to explore travel options in their own country, when they plan their well deserved vacations. We value the commitment of our employees and encourage them to lead a balanced lifestyle, devoting time not only to their careers, but also to their families and personal wellbeing. Siemens is consistently named as one of the best employers in SA (CRF Survey) and our participation in initiatives like this is a further commitment to providing a balanced work environment for our employees.”
Through the new campaign, South African Tourism partners with a number of businesses that offer a travel related service (i.e. accommodation, car hire or an airplane ticket to local destinations) to load specially packaged deals on the Vaya Mzansi website (www.vayamzansi.co.za) and mobile site (www.vayamzansimobi). Consumers can also become a fan of the Facebook fanpage (www.facebook.com/vayamzansi) and take advantage of affordably priced deals available on these platforms.
Today’s event saw Siemens’ Midrand head office turned into an adventure zone, as employees tried out adrenalin-pumping activities such as jet skiing and trampoline bungee jumping; an action-packed cycle route simulator and a mini golf practice range. Employees were also treated to relaxing and rejuvenating spa experiences, together with wine and cheese tasting.
The Sophiatown food, music and pantsula dance lesson added a unique South African cultural flavour.
