Singita Mara River Tented Camp witnesses Wildebeest migration

Kevin Pongola, camp manager at Singita Mara River Tented Camp, reports, “The wildebeest arrived in the Kogatende area around the 1st of June, on the Eastern end of the river, and started crossing in smaller groups while also making their way west.

“They arrived across the river from Singita Mara River Tented Camp (SMRTC) about 5 days ago, and smaller groups started crossing. The big herds began crossing two days ago. More huge herds are expected to cross and they will actually cross back over, and then back again multiple times, possibly even into September. Sporadic sightings of smaller straggler crossings will be seen until the end of the year.”
